digest-app — last updated 7 September 2026

digest-app is a personal tool run by one individual, for that individual, on their own computer. It has no other users, and it collects nothing from anyone else.

What it accesses

With the account owner's explicit Google consent, and only for their own accounts:

• Gmail (read-only). The list of messages the owner has starred, and for each one its sender, subject, date, identifier and permalink.
• Google Calendar (read and write). Calendar events in a window around the current date — title, time, location, organiser and attendees. The only write it performs is setting an event's colour on the owner's own personal calendar.

What it stores, and where

The data above is stored in a database on the owner's personal computer. Nothing is uploaded to any server operated by the application, because there is none. OAuth credentials are held in the macOS Keychain on that same machine.

What it never does

• It does not share, sell, transfer or publish any Google user data.
• It does not use Google user data to train any generalised model.
• It does not send email, delete email, or modify message content.
• It has no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. These pages set no cookies.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept only as long as the owner keeps the local database, and is deleted by deleting it. Access can be withdrawn at any time from Google account permissions, which immediately and permanently stops all access.

digest-app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
